Importance Notice: Change in Billing Policy - From 01/12/2022
Albert St CBD medical centre is a mixed billing practice, with payment at the time of consultation
expected. This is due to the government has introduced medicare rebate freeze since 2013 and over the past 2-3 years the cost of running the business has exponentially increased. We can no longer sustain bulk billing model of care. This applies to all doctors except Dr Howard Hii who still bulk bill on Tuesday only.
We have bulk bill for pensioner, DVA health card holder and all children under 16 yo. Patients must be able to present the appropriate Medicare/DVA/pension card along at the time of appointment or you will be charged full consultation fee.
We bulk bill people who attend for preventative health care services related to chronic/complex
conditions i.e. Chronic disease care plans and reviews, health assessments for 45-49yo or >75yo.
Due to the potential non-attendance from patients in the past, if you book a long-extended appointment, please pay the full fee in advance of your appointment over the phone with our receptionist to secure your appointment.
We currently bulk bill Telehealth consults, if a doctor determines your situation is complex or requires physical examination, we would ask you to return for a face-to-face assessment to ensure safety and quality of care.
